Target practice - 03/05/14 12:32 AM

Just got my first bow and I am looking forward to shooting a deer next year. I have been shooting at 20 yards in the back yard. what are some of your set ups or suggestions for a cheep back stop, In case you miss so you don't shoot into your fence or neighbors yard as I back up and shoot farther.

Just don't miss.....maybe a hay or cotton bale. On a serious note: I'd practice from a seated position, from a tree, or from practical positions. When I played basketball many moons ago, my coach used to tell me "game shots, game spots, game speed".

You can also get a horse mat from tractor supply and build a frame where it will be behind your target. Dont use the horse mat for a target!!

I was thinking about putting up one wood fence panel as a backstop for a target. I will be able to shot about 100 yards and would like a little back stop of some kind.

I thought about filling some 5 gallon buckets with water or sand and putting those behind my target, I haven't tried it yet though
