Public land hunting - 09/25/10 09:32 PM

I have a goofy question I can't find a clear answer for online. I haven't done any hunting on public land before. So is an APH permit the same as a WMA permit??? Also, are you required to wear hunters orange while bow hunting??? I will be hunting from a pop up blind.

The APH permit gives you access to WMA's . I do not believe you have to wear hunter orange as long as it is archery only season.

Where do you purchase the APH permit at?

I called two different Academys and they had no idea what an APH permit was.

if there is any any squirrel hunting going on you better have some orange on. or have some with you. got a ticket a few yrs back under the assumption that it wasnt needed for bow hunting only. game warden said since squirrel hunting was still in season that we needed orange. $150 ticket. if your on public lands just have it and take it off when you get to your stand or hunting area. not worth the ticket.
