Where is everyone hunting opening week end?

I'm hunting out west of Odessa with my buddy Rloving on this forum, he and I hunt a lot together..We will also do a week of hunting in Oklahoma in November (that's our yearly hunt at his familes ranch).

Good grief I can't wait till bow season starts, I've been ready since the season ended!

Well it depends if we close on the house in time. Might be hunting in Weatherford in the backyard.

Otherwise at the Farm between Santo and Palo Pinto.

Will be hunting the THF to see how all you lucky ones did for the first two weeks because I have to work.
After that I get three weeks to hunt as much as I want.

I will be at my lease, I don't know most likely my stand the first morning, might try a couple of others after that. Depends on weather and all that.

Family property in wise county. Got some decent bucks coming in and alot of does.

Will be in Fannin county opening weekend hunting. After that most of my time will be in Fredericksburg. Well right outside of there in Willow City. A buddy I grew up with family has about 1300 acres out there.

In a Loc-On Spirit tree stand 17 1/2 foot high up in an oak tree on my lease in Blanco County. Can't wait!

Put this stand up in May and pulled some of the vines off the tree there, they have filled in nicely, and put up a squirrel's nest.

You're right about that. I have some pictures of some really good
deer this year. The acorns are thick and so are the antlers. I've killed five rattlesnakes in camp also. Be careful and good hunting.

2 weeks away!!! I work until the 6th but then will be off for a week. I will be huntin' with my buddy in Motley Co. First year to hunt this area but it's lookin' promising.

I will be hunting mostly here in fort bend county behind my dads house since I cant bow hunt where I rifle hunt here in fort bend count. But might head towards hallettsville if i get a wild hair. Good luck!

Palestine, TX. Been huntin there for the last 11 years. Got some good deer on cam this year. Got my eyes set on 4.5 y/o 140-150" 10 pt. Got pics from startin to show antler growth, all the way to hard antler.

Bell county. Okalla. Buddy has 100 acres. Great thing is that I can be in my stand about 20 minutes after work. And home for dinner.

Plan on being at the lease in Albany, first opener in 16yrs. I usually have to hunt somewhere around the house.

In Nacogdoches Co..... still not sure of exact location within the county.

i will be here in franklin county opening weekend. lots of hog picks on my cams, and very few deer, really exited about it

I have heard of setting up for a short shot but.... I mean really, the feeder is throwing corn into the stand and it is piling up against the legs of the the stand.

Opening weekend in Sterling County, then traveling to my other lease in Baylor County probably about Monday. So far Sterling County cameras are showing more big buck numbers, but Baylor County is showing more bucks during shooting hours.

Baylor County typically does not come on strong until the wheat comes up, but it looks good early. I do have some huge hogs on that lease though, and absolutely ZERO hogs in Sterling County.

I honestly cannot wait. My Z7 is shooting so good right now.

Are you really able to shoot a deer out of that tripod sticking out in the open like that? I am just curious because I have never used a tripod to bow hunt - only tree stands or pop up ground blinds. I would have thought that you would need to "bury" it in amongst the trees or brush to hide your outline.

I actually bought two tripods to use in Sterling County. I basically set them up in the middle of some mesquite trees to hide myself in the brush. I will hunt out of them on opening day in a couple of weeks. I just never would have thought that you could have set them up out in the open like that.

Just curious cause I went to alot of work to hide mine.

lots of bursh/burlap/shade are needed for tripods to bowhunt IMO. out in the open your screwed

start the bow season out in a ground blind at the lease between deleon and comanche, the following weekend will go to my buddys
lease between childress and quanah, seeing lots of bone up there, try some more bow hunting from a ground blind

Hopefuly il be filming my budy hunt opening morning in Milam County outside Davila. Then play in a softball tournament that day and then make it to my lease in Lampasas County Saturday night to get some sleep before a morning and evening hunt on sunday.

Fairly well. I've hunted near Vance on the Nueces river quite a few times. County Rd 335. Good hunting out there.

well, bottom one isn't going to happen....top one isn't either. My wife pulled rank on me and has chosen to hunt back behind that plot along the creek.

Comanche County.

SW of Graham on the lease and some closer public. But, I am going to pass on the opener and get some honey do's done so I can focus on more hunting later. I will let the opening weekend pressure pass on the public land. On private; out of 4 game cameras I am seeing some legal bucks, but none I want to take right now. Besides I am the only semi serious bowhunter on my lease so whatever my first day to bowhunt is, will be my opening day. The year round feeders have been cranked up, cows moved off, and the Wheat fields planted last week. As well with zero pressure on our place right now, more Does should move in from the neighbors. Traditionally things get better on our lease farther into October as the Bucks break up and get more interested in the coming rut.
