Recurve bow?

I would like to start bow hunting and I was wandering if I could hunt hogs and maybe deer with a recurve. I am very new to bow hunting and need some guidence thanks. Just to let you know I will be working on a minimal budget. I was looking at the pse coyote.

i bought a martin jaguar recurve
they claim 280 fps
not sure on that but slings them pretty good out to 30-35 yds

If you choose to hunt traditional, understand your freezer may stay empty for while. Find some one who is traditionalist and let him school you. I started at 9 years old and have always hunted traditional. Dont buy anything without research. You may be waisting your money. Many try and give up. Google traditional archery forums, there are several out there. They can be very helpful. And you do have to practice a lot in traditional. Good luck

i went to a 3D shoot last weekend and it was put on by a awesome group, it was Collin County bow Hunters Assoc.and they had more traditional shooter i think than compound shooters. they would be the group to join if you like traditional

Good advice!! I take both bows when I hunt, compound and trads I've built.

Here's the skinny on that bow.
You're not going to get that kind of FPS unless you're shooting a 80 tp 90 pound bow. Dude 280 is average for compounds shooting light arrows.

Arrow Speed: about 225 to 250 FPS.

Please do not take this as starting an argument. The fastest recurves out there only shoot around 210fps. Any other traditionalist out there, please chime in...
