Savage .410 single-shot youth shotgun - need pricing help

Hey Guys,

I have posted this gun on the THF Trading Post, but I am having a problem determining the value of the gun.

It is a Savage .410 single-shot shotgun, 26” barrel, Westpoint model 949 with break open side lever, chambered for 2-1/2” and 3” shells.

The question was asked on-line on Answers.com..."What is the value of a Savage Arms Westpoint Model 949?"

The answer was..."I would not sell a good one for less than $550.00"

This sounds too good to be true and seems way too high. Any of you guys know what the real value of this gun is?

It has been my experience that the .410’s sell for more than the 12’s or 20’s,but once again the price on Answers.com seems way too high.

With the limited research info available from Savage, it appears this gun was made between 1936 - 1942 and is in great shape for that age.

I want to sell this gun, but don’t want the price to be out of line one way or the other. Any input here?

Found a 12 ga. Westpoint 949 on Gunbroker, not in nearly as good of condition for $110.00, so I am dropping my price to $115.00 to move it.
