CVA Cascade in .270

CVA Cascade in .270 - 01/15/24 02:32 PM

Don't own a .270 and thinking of getting one in CVA Cascade model with the cerakote and camo finishes, threaded barrel. Anyone have any experiences with this model CVA; how does it shoot, trigger pull, ejection, etc.

I have that rifle in 7mm-08. Well balanced and accurate and the fit and finish is top notch IMO. It's my understanding the barrels are made by Bergara.

Love mine. I'm considering an XT at some point in time, but it's really impossible to justify because mine just shoots so well. It's comfortable, smooth, accurate, balanced, and it has a marvelous trigger, in my opinion. It was very affordable for the features to boot.

I'm gonna take a chance on them after all the reviews. I ordered a 22-250 in the CVA Cascade yesterday.

You won't be disappointed. I'd buy one in 22-250 if I didn't have my Ruger 77V.

The video reviews online for that caliber in this gun were awesome!

Re: CVA Cascade in .270 - 01/26/24 03:33 AM

DQ it’s one of the top 2-3 rifles in that price range. I would also look at the Ruger American in wild camo and same finish. Once I adjusted the trigger on my 7PRC down to 3 lbs from 5 lb factory, it grouped sub 1” MOA.

Don’t think you go wrong either way in that price point.

Sweet. You will like it and leave that single shot in the truck from now on. Try the Hornaday ELDX 145 gr.

Yes, I did put a 20Moa EGW Pic rail on and removed the short factory ones. The #3 contour Bergara Barrel is nice. The soft touch stock is nice and the trigger is light and crisp with no creep.

100x agree, the trigger is light, no creep or play. Read it is factory set at 3lbs.

Re: CVA Cascade in .270 - 02/03/24 03:13 AM

Came close to snagging one up a few weeks ago, 16” 300 BO. But I passed. If they would make it compatible with Remington 700 stocks it really would be a Ruger American killer. It’s a nice gun for the money.

Ruger american killer… yeah it beats the first gen american by a mile. But I have handled the cascades a few times in the store. First time I laid hands on a Ruger American Gen II it went home with me, i did not want to put it down. I think that much comes down to individual tastes and preferences though. I have always loved the American and i shot my first deer with one. And i love Ruger stuff.

The more I think about it though, a Bergara is probably the nicest price point gun because it has the Remington 700 footprint. And that cascade is not far off from it.

Here is a Bergara .270. 24” barrel, remington 700 footprint so the aftermarket is wide open. Only about $100 over the Cascade. I want one just so I can put it in a Manners.

Re: CVA Cascade in .270 - 02/03/24 05:20 AM

Both Bergara and CVA are owned by BPI. So there's that. Not sure about the Remington footprint but I love the touch and feel of this new rifle. I bet it shoots great too. We shall see.

I love my Ruger American Go Wild Camo in 7mm PRC also. It's a shooter.

Re: CVA Cascade in .270 - 02/03/24 05:57 AM

That explains why they are so similar. They are nice, I also like the texture of the stocks. If I had the spending money in my pocket at the time I might have bought a Bergara a long time ago.

I just looked it up. You are 100% correct. 3lbs. Might head out to Graham next weekend to go shoot with my son, brother and nephew.
