Lol get ready with all the brace SBR’d coming through your looking at 1-2 years. I waited 1 year for my first one and that was with regular wait time. You have around 10-20 million Americans trying not to be felons right now. Form 1’s are gonna be stupid long. And if you’re getting a free stamp if you don’t get approved in 88 days you’re automatically denied and they’ll come get your pistol brace SBR and give you nothing in return.

Don’t comply you’re literally giving them your address with pictures of your illegal AR pistol. Don’t fall for the cheese this [censored] is a trap. Will be overturned and the ATF can go suck it.

It’s not a pistol conversion. I was told 60 days, but we shall see. I’ll update this eventually.

40-50 days is what they are running provided it’s an eFile.

Pistol conversion or not the Form1 is about to be overrunned by all the people getting their pistols turned into SBRs. They didn’t create a new division just for this, they just waved their hands and made braces illegal, the same people are going to be doing the same amount of work each day. This is going to back up the system big time regardless if you’re a legitimate form 1 SBR from scratch or if you’re a person registering a braced pistol for the first time.

pictures? I didn't have to give pictures of the guns on either form 1 application. Is this a special requirement for the pistol-to-SBR application?

Yea I’ve never had to send in any pictures for NFA items but I’m pretty sure it is a requirement for the new brace to SBR thing.

Well, given that you're not supposed to assemble an SBR prior to the tax stamp being issued, the only thing that I was registering at the time was the lower receiver, with measurements of what the completed firearm would be after assembly.

If I were submitting to register a pistol AR into an SBR, I would register the lower, without a brace and without an upper. Once the tax stamp was issued, then I'd assemble it.

But I'd be more likely to just put a 16" upper on the receiver in the first place.

Re: Form 1 wait time - 02/03/23 02:13 AM

I believe the picture has to be of the gun as configured with upper and brace to qualify for the free tax stamp otherwise someone could buy a stack of lowers and register them all for free. So they’re asking you to actually show them the gun the way it is now to actually qualify for a free stamp.

Did you submit and pay for the tax stamp or was it a braced pistol? I submitted a regular form 1 on March 10th so hopefully it’ll be fast.

Re: Form 1 wait time - 03/26/23 07:55 PM

It was not a braced pistol. Standard form 1 SBR.
