Depends on the condition of the gun and what kind it is (Chinese, Yugo, Romanian, etc...) but considering the outrageous prices they are going for these days, I would say he got a good deal if the gun is in good shape. Last summer you could get a Romanian WASR-10 (what a lot of people consider the bottom of the line AK variants but still good guns assuming you get one that has good quality control) for $300-350. Now you are seeing them for as much as $700.

he says it is very clean and the seller says he only threw 150 rounds thru it.

Excellent buy. I'd pay $550 for a WASR-10 right now.
