Love that little marlin....I looked at one of those...special run a Lipses..I think a few years back...yes I will have to pull the contender barrel out...

I would have to go back and look at my paperwork that came with the rifle but I think that it was 2000, funny don't seem that long ago. The run of 500 was through Davidson's; hence, the "D" in the designation.
The 35 Rem has pretty much dropped into the reloaders hands as ammunition availability is no longer dependable. I am surprised that it continues to be offered in the Marlin line as in 2010, Marlin was building fewer that 500 units a year. That is the point that they deem a offering as unviable. I've been very surprised that Rem continued to chamber it.
There is another 35 Rem that is still cataloged and that is the CVA Hunter & Scout. Last year I bought a Hunter Compact and it was a very nice rifle but I should have bought the full size rifle. "Compact" is code for youth and the rifle was just too small for me. I have a friend that took a shine to it so I gave it to him.
