IMO if you want a rock solid 100% reliable 1911 be prepared to spent in the 1k ballpark.
I'm a Glock fanboy myself, but even I know that is extreme.
I say $700. That'll get you a lower grade Kimber that'll shoot perfect each and every time. Just my opinion and I'm still kicking myself for getting rid of mine. After that gun, no Taurus, RIA or Citadel or any other "cheap" 1911's for me but I still will never shoot a Wilson because I don't want to HAVE to have one.
Realistically, the Taurus will probably always shoot for you, but that brand had always made me nervous, personally. Again, it may never fail on you tho
