Gunsmith - 05/29/14 10:18 PM

I just picked up a Rem. 700 SA, I plan to have it re-barreled to a .260 Remington. I would like to get some names of good gunsmiths around DFW to do the work. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I just picked up my rifle from S&S precision today and they got my business for now on for my remi 700's. They opened up the barrel channel on my HS stock and polished the chamber at a great price and had it done in less than a week! Ol Stick and his crew know what the hell they are doing on those 700's.

What are the specs on that beast?

HS varmint stock, Bartlein heavy varmint started out as a 6br then re chambered to the .243 cut down to 19.5" threaded, fluted bolt, badger knob, PTG firing pin to eliminate the j-lock, Timney trigger, seekins 20 MOA base, seekins rings low.

Just stalling on the glass and bipod now bang

That thing looks sweet. I have Horizon Firearms building me a 6.5 CM right now with similar specs but with a 16.25" barrel. Love the short fat bolt gun. up

6.5 is next when I get done with this barrel.

Good luck on your build up

Stick and his crew are an awesome bunch of guys that do great work.

I would have Stick or Jon Trammell in Breckenridge to do my work.

Do you like that HS stock? Is the stock heavy? I am building this as a lightweight deer rifle. I'm just trying to get a list of components together. And I am considering an HS.

Love the HS stocks this one is pretty damn light minus the barrel, and the fit is perfect for me.

Get a hold of scott weichel in Wylie. He built my custom 243 and did an awesome job. He pays attention to all the little details to make the gun look good and it shoots like a dream.
