Personal Best - 09/07/13 07:38 PM

I've always loved pistols but have never been much of a shooter. Took a short trip out to test some new sights on my CZ75 and stepped back to the 50 yd line for giggles. I was pretty happy with the results...

My CZ 75 B is the straightest shooting pistol I own. Just fantastic. What sights did you go with KC? Mine is in need of an upgrade

That's nice shooting at 50 yards. It's not the gun, it's YOU! Good job. cheers

It's a stock rear sight, but I had to file it down .020 to get the point of impact correct with the load it liked best. I widened the rear notch just a tad and rounded the bottom to give a U sight channel. The front sight is a green Hi Viz fiber optic and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Sticks out like the proverbial diamond in a goats rear- you can SEE it. Best $30 you can spend on that pistol.

The load I used is 4.5 gr Unique under a 120 gr Lee Truncated Cone bullet sized .357 and tumble lubed (I thin my lube 50/50 with mineral spirits, then lightly dust with talc).

Have two 75's with Kadet kit, only complaint is trigger.

At 50 yards I am pretty consistent with my Super Redhawk using 45 LC rounds. I can hit a basketball sized rock most of the time.

Same complaint here. There's a LOT of creep in that trigger. I've heard there are gunsmiths that can clean them up and make them feel more like a sig, but I hate to spend that kind of money on it.

Would love to get a Kadet slide one of these days.

Is that the 22 conversion kit? I've heard mixed reviews about what it will cycle.

How has your experience been?

Will keep my eye open. Still have your number in my phone. I found mine in a small gun shop, took a while to convince the owner that it might sit there for another four years before anyone with a CZ stopped in with money to spare. Brought my CZ in from the truck, slipped the Kadet slide/barrel on and went out back and ran a few rounds through the pistol.

I have used CCI and Federal bulk, and it has performed well. Have had a few stoppages, can't remember if failure to eject or to load. Will try to pay more attention in the future.

KC, Glad to see you got another decent pistol. Guess I need to come shoot that one too!

My next all steel 9mm will be a CZ.

Waiting for this.... smirk
