GEICO=Government Employees Insurance Company

I am not surprised.

Also, Progressive is just what they say: "Progressive". Extremely radical left-wing ownership.

I called and they said they cannot/will not cancel your insurance due to the fact of where or what you do at work. You should definitely call and keep us posted on what they say back.

Good luck man, their facebook is blowing up with support on your behalf.

Looks like I'll be shopping for auto coverage next month. I may even buy a new policy elsewhere in the next few days so I can call GEICO and tell them to go to hell.

Anyone know of a good insurance company owned and operated by patriots?

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/24/13 12:46 AM

I am no longer a GEICO customer.

I was given the opportunity to reveal why I was firing GEICO, which I did (as nicely as I could). The young lady at GEICO tried to tell me that there was some kind of misunderstanding surrounding the cancellation notice seen above and that it actually really had nothing to do with firearms, so I told her that the cancellation letter can be seen on the net (translation: please don't try to BS me!).

Just as well. This will save me about $250 a year.

Check this out...Better be sure that this isn't regarding an under-equipped bomb hauler or something that has nothing to do with guns. Nothing like having everyone look all knee-jerky like the gun grabbers.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/geico.asp

Now if it saves you $250, well then take the hike!

No, but about two months later, they sent a refund check for the remainder of the prepaid policy time; They also cover our four wheelers and tractors/farm equipment;

Now, Germania, drop me. Not for the gun shop, or the range, they were OK. It was the batting cage. They told me I have to fence the batting cage with 8' chain link or they'd drop me.... I went back to Farm Bureau

LOOK at the text in the letter: "...it is used in conjunction with a company that deals in the weapons industry." That looks like pretty clear language to me.

Snopes is NOT a reliable source for confirming or debunking controversies. They ARE good at trying to spin the story to make conservatives look bad, nothing more. The same is true of factcheck.org. "Fact check," my a$$! Both of these outfits are chicken**** libtard purveyors of deception.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/24/13 01:47 AM

I am an insurance agent (Germania) The policy was probably cancelled by a underwriter that interpreted company policy. I posted this on my facebook the moment I saw it. This company Government Employees Insurance Company has the right to make its own company policy if it wants just like we have the right to tell these liberal hacks to take a hike and not do business with them. This company takes your insurance money and some of it is probably used to support this president and all that he stands for including banning guns.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/25/13 02:04 PM

Read the letter in the OP and then read the way snopes tries to spin it.
Posted By: Borane4

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/25/13 03:51 PM

OK, I did. And I read alot of the stuff about snopes. Fine, they are liberal pawns - whatever. Forget snopes for a minute...

From the OP: "The reason for cancellation is your vehicle, (... blacked-out...), does not meet our underwriting guidelines because it is used in conjunction with a company that deals in the weapons industry."

So, an insurance underwriter HAS to insure everything we ask them to? What if the guy is using a car - like a Ford Escort - to haul hand grenades or something? Is that the appropriate vehicle for the stated use? It's weapons, are y'all saying they never cause situations where there is a reasonable expectation that the insurance claims might exceed what a non-weapons use might incur...

Us gun-owners are always complaining about half-truths and not enough info and knee-jerk reactions. For me this is just the other side of that same coin. Boycott away, but I suspect that Geico is just watching out for its bottom line.

Your mileage may vary, so Peace.

BTW, I got this directly from the owner of gunadapters.com

Initially, he just told people the situation and allot of people, myself included, called BS on it and requested a copy of the cancellation notice, which is when I recieved the picture that I posted.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/26/13 12:01 AM

Here's another Snopes deception. I emailed Kelly McMillan when this went down and he confirmed it. Yet Snopes attempts to spin it into something else all together and sow seeds of doubt.

Snopes is a liberal spin machine. If you want to believe the crap they put out, have at it.

The media's been lying to people for so long they no longer believe what their own eyes and ears and common sense tell them---just like children of alcoholics who grow up unable to discern reality because their minds would not allow them to believe the violence and insanity they see growing up. As a consequence they have no confidence in their own perception as adults. The things we see spewing forth from outfits like Snopes is cut from the same cloth. They're all part of the liberal spin machine.

I guess I grew up before all the brainwashing took hold. I fear for this country's future.

I am sure all this kind of stuff is just imaginary. Ha.

You guys who, for WHATEVER reason, can't seem to accept the facts about who's who and who's doing what to strip us of our rights---it's time to wake up and see the world around you. It may be much more comforting to just go to someone who will tell you it's not really happening---like Snopes---but it's time to become adults and know the world for what it is and not for what you wish it to be.

Texas Farm Bureau Insurance is the best by far. Claims paid quickly and very competitive on auto, home, farm, life insurance and liability. Offices in over 200 counties in Texas and a Texas company.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/28/13 09:16 PM

First of all I'm lifetime NRA and a conservative so don't call me some liberal brainwashed type. laugh

Not defending snopes but rather the information. Snopes lists both stories as undetermined. They have a statement from the bank in the one story and insurance company in the other. They have statements from the gun maker and that seller as well. They don't agree. Seems like undetermined is a pretty accurate assessment.

The other part about BoA blocking purchases of ammo with credit/debit cards is false as stated in snopes. Heck I just bought some ammo with my BoA Visa and have bought guns as well (also with the debit card a number of times).

If BoA or Geico had some sort of policies like as alleged in these stories there would be many more folks and companies coming forward. Heck the NRA would probably help expose them. I would certainly not want to do business with those companies.

However, making an overall judgement based on one internet story is unsound.

On the other hand, banding together on something that is verified like as with the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show turned out to really send a message. I don't believe any public company trying to make money wants a piece of that negative action. Just do a search on the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show and see what happened.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/30/13 04:42 PM

My first thought is "What/who had the most to gain with this being made public." Seems any competing insurance company or agent. Spread a rumor, get it going, reap the rewards. Personally we have had our home & auto insurance with USAA since 1990 when my daughter turned 16 and got her drivers license. Before that it was with Liberty Mutual for 20 years.

Re: Involved in gun industry? GEIKO cancels insurance! - 01/30/13 06:13 PM

I am not suprised.

Many years ago my daily driver was insured by GEICO. I was also involved in local drag racing; neither my race car or my tow truck were with GEICO.

The local agent saw my name in the newspaper one day for having won a race and I was promptly cancelled because they "do not insure race car drivers". The fact that the car they were insuring was not involved in racing, in fact it never was at the strip, made any difference. I was a "race driver" and there for "irresponsible" and "high risk" according to them.

I have been with USAA ever since and am as happy as a clam!
