LaRue or POF AR15

LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/03/12 05:50 AM

I need to choose between an almost brand new LaRue Stealth 16" with a RISR CTR stock, Gisselle 2stage trigger and a POF with a 16" barrel upper and a Rock River lower. the POF shows signs of wear and has had between 500 and 750 rounds down the pipe.
Please give me your thoughts and opinions, both are basically the same price.

Re: LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/03/12 03:17 PM

What kind of lower does the Larue upper have? If its a Larue lower id do it. If its any other lower, it would bug me and I wouldnt go for it. Thats just me.

Re: LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/03/12 03:42 PM

Yes a LaRue lower and aimpoint red dot

Re: LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/03/12 03:50 PM

Aimpoint optic too? Yeah id do it. Sounds like a good deal. The Stealth uppers run $1200 new. And the lowers i think are $250 and you cant even buy them right now. Let me know if you decide against the trade as id probably be interested

Well, I'd like to be the dissenting opinion here. The way Mark LaRue conducts himself on other forums (mainly ARFcom) makes me never want to buy anything from him. When it comes to mounts, I'll go ADM. When it comes to AR15s, I'll build my own.

He's pretentious, he's offensive, and he's a rabble-rouser. He won't be getting my money.

edit- Besides, it's all way too expensive for what you get.

What is his user name on arfcom.

Re: LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/03/12 09:48 PM

LaRue_Tactical. He's toned it down, and has removed himself from general discussion almost entirely. But previously, it was amazing how childish he would act.

you pay that much money for the name but it wont shoot any better than one you build yourself.

adm mounts don't compare to the quality of the LT mounts, i'm pretty sure your rifle compared to theirs is pretty much the same comparison.

have you ever even shot one?
did he offend you?

Mark is a huge supporter of LE and our Military and being in Texas makes it a no brainer.

IMO the majority of the the people on barfcom are a bunch of booger eating morons living in moms basement that enjoy stirring crap up especially with someone that has made a name for himself.

If Larue is an option it is the always the answer.

If you like Dillo Dust try Adkins Western Style Barbecue Seasoning. It's the same as Dillo Dust and available at Walmart, Brookshires, Kroger, etc.

I don't know about POF but I have a stealth 16" and 18" and they
are both deadly accurate. I have some other nice AR's but when
put along side the LaRues they look like junk. LaRue made in
Texas all the way! Road Dawg

Re: LaRue or POF AR15 - 09/07/12 11:34 AM

Dpms AR10, and a glock 17. it was a really nice weapon but I wanted to start shooting 3 gun. I'm getting the glock back tonight, turns out the aimpoint was a knockoff...
