AR .308 Question?

AR .308 Question? - 02/29/08 05:37 AM

I looking into getting an AR .308 caliber. I have been considering this for a while and gathering info along the way. I had drawn the conclusion that Armalite was the way to go. Then just this past weekend I had a couple of people tell me that Rock River was clearly the best. I realize that this may be just a couple of random conflicting opinions but it made me wonder. So I throw myself upon the wisdom of the THF to settle the "which AR style .308 is the best?" question. Please include basic specs if you think they are important.

Thanks,

Bankwalker

there is more than one upper manufactured by the same company and a named stamped on it rock river arms is one of them. I would not say that RRA is the best, inexpensive yes the best no, right now the best uppers are lewis machine and tool company or www.lewismachine.net however they are also high and on back order. I am sure someone will say they are not that good, well try to buy one before the day is thru. My brother has an ar10 I think it is a armalite it shoots great groups further than some bolt guns. I will try to get him to post on here this morning. A great place to ask the same question is on the snipershide.com

Armalite since they created the AR10 and AR15 charge a premium, sort of like Sub Zero with built in fridges. They aren't they only ones who make them, but they are good.

I'd try DPMS. They make one that I've only heard good things about and it's much less than the Armalite.
