Barrel threading question

Barrel threading question - 01/16/11 03:57 AM

Going to get a replacement barrel from Shilen for My savage and was going to go ahead and get it threaded for perhaps a comp. or most likely a suppressor down the road. What threading(if that's the correct term) would be a good choice to have a wide range of choice down the road?

Depends on caliber
.223 Rem = 1/2x28 TPI
.308 Win = 5/8x24 TPI

Most 6.5 calibers are going to use .308 suppressors so again use that pitch.

Yeah, I get a fail on that one. Yes, it's .308

definately do the 5/8x24 its the most common for breaks and supressors in the US.
