Ranchland howa 1500, in 308 - 02/22/10 02:45 PM

I have a Ranchland howa 1500 in a .308. The combo package with the nikkosterling scope.. I know i could use better glass and i will put better glass but i have one question. Has any one had good experince with this rifle? I Have had mine a month and have not really had a chance to shoot it. I got a good deal on this rifle package when it was sold to me. cant beat $300.. But i really was wanting to know some info and what my local texas hunters really think and have expre with this rifle?

I had a mod 1500 Howa/Hogue combo in .308 that was very accurate. I like them.

I have looked at the same gun in 223, With the shorter barrel, makes it a quick handling package.
Rem make a 20" 700 LTR in 308 & 223, (Light Tactical Rifle).

Howa actions and barrels are very good quality,
I guess that is why the Weatherby Vanguards are made by Howa.

Yeah, it's a weatherby vanguard with a howa stamp on it. The only thing you may want to do to that thing is slap an aftermarket trigger on it at some point.

Actually I think the Weatherby Vanguard is a Howa with a Weatherby stamp on it. Many companies have put their name on Howa rifles.
