I'm going to be hunting Choke Canyon this year and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to where to go. Is it better to hunt walk in or by boat? Is there gators that can eat my dog Don't want all your secret spots, I'll find those on my own just want some advice about hunting the CHOKE. Later

I am not familiar with Choke Canyon but would be interested in hearing from someone that is.

Did you get a chance to scout it out yet? Did it look like it would be hospitable to walk in hunting? Like you, I am not asking for specifics, I am just trying to determine if it is worth pursuing.

Here is info from one of our field editors at waterfowler.com - Hope it helps you out...

You can tell them that there are a lot of gators that will eat there dog. Don't take the dog til Jan. you need a boat. Go in at the Hwy. 99 ramp. It is close to the bridge between opossum creek and the river. Go down river a ways and there is plenty of areas to hunt. You need the Texas hunting land permit.
