After much thought and consideration, and after my wife just spent a ton on a Lexus, I'm getting a new scope. It'll go on my 260 Tikka that Chad will have ready for me soon.

I want a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with the 1 inch tube and with the Varmint Hunter reticle. That's all I need and that's what I want, so ease up on the Vortex and Conquest suggestions and all the others. Money isn't an object, I'm happy to say, and I have considered some really expensive scopes and have come to the realization that I just really don't need to spend a bunch of money to feel good. And I don't want a bunch of target knobs or even the Leupold CDS turrets.

Who do ya think will have the best price on that? Save me a little research and point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Typically I can find prices on Amazon that match or beat others prices, and with Amazon prime, you get free 2-day shipping or next day air for $3.99 compared to most places that charge $5-$15 for standard ground shipping.

Well...I've started rethinking what I want. Fact is that I don't really need a new scope, but just wanted one. I'm still leaning toward that Leupold, but maybe the CDS version might be the better option. No rush to buy, so I'll just mentally chew on it for a while. I have to wait on some new rings anyway. I went to mount my existing scope on it (Burris FFII 4.5-14x42) so I could get to testing loads immediately. But....but....the rings were too low and the scope bell is bumping the barrel. Dang. Ya know...I mighta given some thought to that possibly happening, since the barrel is a #4 contour and is heavier than factory, but I didn't. So I now have some DNZ mounts/rings enroute, and I'll have that in less than a week. Oh well...I just have to calm down and wait.
