I have seen age n score make a few posts stating that he feeds Indian Corn, but I can't seem to find a feed store around here that can order it. The reason I was wondering is that "Indian Corn" - at least to me - has yellow, brown, red, white and almost black kernels. G90 (or Sweet G-90) is also multicolored, but just white and yellow. It's also a special order in 50 lb sacks and a little higher than standard deer corn. The nutritional value of G90 for deer is the same as standard deer corn, but the sugar content is a little higher. If anyone using "Indian Corn" can give us a cost and location where they buy it, I'd appreciate it. Also, could you post pics of the "Indian Corn"? Here are some pics of G90:

I can't find Indian Corn anywhere, but I get G90 here in New Boston - NE Texas.
The problem with G90 here is that you can only get it once and awhile. My feed store says maybe next year they can get it again - but it's been three years since they got the last batch and it was much higher in cost.
The only good thing about G90 is that it's sweet enough to keep them coming to an "out of the way" feeder and the only reason I have used it. Once they start coming in I go back to the regular deer corn.

In my humble opinion...Indian Corn and G90 have the same nutritional value. Indian corn may taste different to deer and G90 has sugar, but that's it. Like I said - sweet feed will clog a feeder and mixing sugar or some other ingredient is too expensive - so I get a few bags of G90 when I can get it for those new areas that I want to draw the deer in and feed it until they start coming in regular. Then it's back to the tried and true regular corn.

Orn - Did you just go into the feed store and say "give me some G90 corn" ? If I do that, are they going to look at me as if I were from outerspace ?

Call them first. Like I said, it's not a handy item.
And any feed store should know what G90 or Sweet G90 corn is...I'd think...but they may laugh at you for wanting it in 50 lb bags unless you tell them it's for feed only. The last I checked, G90 in 50 lb for planting was over $500.00 a bag... Your more than likely going to have to find a feed store with direct links to a farmer.

Here's the low-down on G90...and I should have found out more before I posted it.
I checked with another feed store in DeKalb and they told me that G90 can't be sold as "feed" of any sort. If it's sold, it must be sold as "seed". Any sales other than for seed can't be called or claimed as Sweet G90. He said basically the same thing about "Indian Corn", but that the law was not as strict, since the name wasn't patented.
Indian Corn sells for about $4.00 a pound whereas G90 sells for about $10.00 a pound...and that's for "seed" only.
When I called my feed store guy, he told me that he never sold me G90 corn...officially...but that it was surplus "sweet corn". I never really paid that much attention to the receipt or the bag, but he said it was stamped as "Sweet Corn". He did admit to me, however, that he told me that it was G90, but the farmer he uses only sells him the surplus and then it changes from Sweet G90 to plain Sweet Corn at that time.
Sorry for the confusion guys.
If you know of a farmer growing G90 and can get him to sell you surplus, it is the best attractant for use in spin feeders that I know of.
Still looking for anybody that sells Indian Corn for feed - so let me know if y'all find someone. I want to know more about it and what makes it so hot for deer. Hopefully age n score will chime in and let us know.

Sorry guys. I was out for a while. I have seen the G90 and if possible that is what I would use. I'll have to call my brother-in-law on the contact information. They are on vacation in the motor home for the next 3 weeks somewhere in Oregon. He orders all of the Indian corn from his guy in D'Hanis or around there some place. But as soon as I get him I'll post the contact information. We use the Indian corn that as lots of black, yellow, and some red in it. We found this in Cuba New Mexico while elk hunting, and thought it would be funny to put in our feeders. Little did we know what the results would be. The deer really seem to like and stay at the feeder longer.
I feed Indian Corn, the deer really seem to like it and stay at the feeder longer......and longer....!

Well, it's confusing a little, but the way I understand it, the farmer can use the G90 name if he grows it and then sells the product as food or seed. If he does have surplus and wants to sell it, the name can't be used because of the patent. Indian corn is basically sweet corn, but is classified as "multicolored". The chemical and nutritional makeup of indian and sweet corn are identical - if grown in identical climates. So any sweet corn can be classified as indian corn, but only one strain is multicolored. "Super Sweet" (designated) corn, like Sweet G90, is 30 to 40% higher in sugar. All other aspects are the same. So all corn - even field corn - per standard serving (human consumption) has about 20g of carbs, 2g of fiber, 1.5g fat, 3.2g protein, 3mg sodium, and 105 calories. Sweet (Indian) corn has 3.2g of sugar Super Sweet (G90 and others) have 4 to 4.5g of sugar. I'm sticking to the tried and true deer corn...

OK here what I don't get...
age n score, I'm not trying to call you out as liar, but numerous times people have asked you where you order yours from but you never say except the only info is 1800 miles away for three weeks.
On another thread you said, and I quote, "I have about four stores that order it for 'ME'".
On this thread when asked you say "my brother-in-law orders all of it from 'A' guy around D'Hanis or somewhere".
So, do you have four stores that you and bro-in-law order it from? Or does bro-in-law order it from "some guy" around D'hanis?
Seems if you had four stores you order it from you would at least know the name of one of them.
Personally even if its from one place, I think after all these years of using it I would at least know the name of the store or at least be positive of what town the store is in even if my brother-in-law picked it up for me.
It just seems like when it comes down to the nitty gritty of "where can we get it" things start getting vague.
Does brother-in-law maybe have a cell phone you could call him on?
Bill

You want sweet corn, I've heard of people pouring Karo corn syrup (the clear one) on the their regular deer corn mixed in a bucket, and throwing it on the ground with good results, and the deer (and hogs) seem to like that, also I've heard of guys pouring vinilla extract into their feeder barrel which the corn absorbs the smell, and that supposed to attract the deer (and hogs) better also. Me I'll just stick to the regular cheap as I can find it clean corn for my feeder, and cobs and all if I'm going to feed senderos. BTW: If you have hogs (and who doesn't), they love sweet corn even better than the regular also, and will stay longer at your feeder! Thinking I may talk to my neighbor and tell him he should start feeding Indian and sweet corn, and it just might keep all the hogs over there. Sweet corn? =

Sweet corn might be Jimbo, but if you can find a farmer that grows it and has surplus, it's a sure bet to draw the deer into a new spot.
