The BBQ and TexMex is awful in East Texas. I would try to find an old black man selling BBQ on the roadside. That'll be the good stuff right there.

You really only have one option in Teneha. That being the Whistle Stop. Not bad on chicken fried steak day or all you can eat fried seafood. If drive 15 minutes up the road to Center you can find a good BBQ place and some more options.

It's been several years since I've been out there. It's not on the Main Street. It's kinda of off the beaten path North East of the square. You will know if when you see it. Wooden bench tables throughout owned by a really nice black gentleman but I can't recall his name. Ask someone in town they will know.

There is a good little Mexican restaurant in Timpson. In the old Dairy Mart on the east side of 59 coming from Tenaha.
