What does everyone have? I was thinking about getting one but can't decide on the caliber. .450 Bushmaster, .458 Socom or .50 Beowulf or others? Opinions please?

.450 would be cheapest to shoot factory ammo and probably easiest to get

450 is the most limited in bullet weight because it's a .452
50 will be the most expensive to shoot even if you reload
458 has lots of 350 & 405gr projectiles for the 45-70 and heavy 500 and 600gr for the 458 win mag or lott

I have and shoot a 458 Socom but the 6.8SPC is my favorite. The SOCOM is fun but the 6.8 is a real tack driver, cheaper to shoot, more accurate, components are more availible, and magazines are less to deal with.

I'm toying with the idea of going with a .338 Federal on my LR-308 lower.

I have 2 LWRC 6.8 spc uppers and love it but only need 1 and want to get a Big Bore. Is the 458 Socom the cheapest to shoot of the big bore? How many rounds does a .458 Socom hold vs a 50. Beowulf or .450 Bushmaster in a standard AR 30 rd mag? Does it use standard AR mags?

I am looking into either building or purchasing a 6.8 smile

I think the .458 Socom is a pretty neat close range hard hitting round from all of the specs I have read on them. They are like a 45-70 Special lol.

But the plus side is the Bullets are not all that expensive since they are just bullets made for the 45-70. Plus it is a lower pressure round so brass should last a long time.

What is your cost difference between the 2 cartridges? Do you reload? I really love my LWRC 6.8 and was thinking of doing a 10' 6.8 or .300 Blk pistol or sbr. I can't decide.

Both rounds are good, personally I like the 6.8 better . But the 300 does sound awesome suppressed , I'd say u could shoot my 300 pistol but it's getting a make over , again

Maybe I should just go with a .300 Black Out and get a Can.
