I'm looking at starting to build up my 10/22, I'm looking at getting a new trigger assembly but I don't know much about the different ones. Anyone have good experience with any after market ones? The factory one is just an extremely heavy trigger pull and I want to go with something a made a bit better

I have the tactical innovations kit. It comes with a few parts that you replace the factory parts in the trigger assembly. It was fairly straight forward and easy with the right video and some tools. It was a noticeable improvement over the factory, lighter and crisper pull. However, even I'll admit it's not as nice as the Timney. But the it's significantly cheaper as well.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

You need to go to rimfirecentral.com for 10/22 stuff. The triggers are easy to fix, look there to find several ways to do it.
