I have the opportunity to get a fair deal on a Colt Combat Commmander. It has a nickel frame and blued slide. I don't care for shiny firearms, and really don't want a two tone so I thought duracoating was the answer yes/ no?
And to make this more difficult I'd rather be able to take it to the shop and visit with the guy doing the work, no mailing of the pistol. So what's close to my camp?

Cerekote is ceramic based and much harder and durable. I do cerekote finishing locally. I have a post on here with example pics and pricing. Go to www.nicindustries.com to research cerekote. I think after doing the research you will decide to go with cerekote.

Happy to see you found a commander size .45. Have you put the powder to good use?

Randy P. I was mistaken. It is a MK II Series 70, 5" barrel. The powder is still in the safe. I'm still working on loads for Varget and a 175 SMK. That's ok though, I get to start all over with RL-15. Which just translates to more shooting!

+1. Birdsong Black T is also a more expensive but very durable coating
