Hey all, looking for a good suppressed load for a 308 W. What are you all running here? Either AR style or
bolt gun loads are welcomed. Im open for suggestions. Have loads of Mil Spec 762 brass, both misc, and heavy
wall military stuff. Also have large selection of .308 bullets to try with.

thanks all.... shoot safe....

In a bolt gun I've used both jacketed and lead bullets for subsonic loads if that's what you're looking for. 12g powders work with no fillers. I think Trailboss leads in these loads being really bulky and fast. I use Red Dot because I have plenty of it. With a heavy lead bullet I've loaded down to 6 grains in a 30.06 case. Shoots like a .22 and not good for much at that level except for a bit of plinking or to finish off game (maybe 7-800fps). There's a lot of information out there and with a 30 caliber load it's pretty simple. Of course shooting jacketed bullets requires more powder but the info is out there. I think most know this but before you shoot through a can you should shoot paper to make sure it's not tumbling. Cast Boolits website has a couple of good threads that have info. On this site someone mentions to load .308 a grain less than 30.06.

Thanks for the update there, been doing some reading, and Trailboss was the most mentioned powder\
used. Im suprised that others were not mentioned. Never used TB, will do some more research.

Didnt think Red Dot being a fast moving powder will fit the 308, sub loads....

When you say "suppressed" load, are you wanting a subsonic load? You can shoot any ammo suppressed with standard load data.
