Had lunch at a place called North of Bourbon https://www.northofbourbon.com/. New Orleans inspired food and an incredible bourbon selection. I've been to New Orleans 6 times and eaten at a lot of great restaurants. This place did not disappoint. The best fried catfish I've ever had hands down. Got to talk to the chef, he has a proprietary batter and technique he doesn't share, and I can't say I blame him. [Linked Image]

Looks like a great place, did you try any of the Bourbons?

Opened the link, looked at the lunch & dinner menu and only found Catfish nuggets, no filets?

PEPPERED CATFISH NUGGETS
catfish, cornmeal crust, house tiger sauce, pikliz

I should have taken a picture they were more like fillets than nuggets. It's not a great name.

Going to any distillery's? If you only go to one, make it Woodford Reserve. They have the best grounds, shop and tour of any of them.

An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

We went to the Jim Beam Distillery in 2019. Awesome experience.

Lived in Louisville for four years and loved it!! Probably the best 'foodie' place I've ever lived-- If you're headed there I'm happy to pass on some suggestions!

Wife and I just recently spent a week in Louisville. We stayed at a great B&B that was a 15min drive to downtown. We visited quite a few of the distilleries in the area then made our way to Bardstown and Lexington doing the same. The 1st distillery we visited was Old Forester. The tour guide we had set the bar, she was outstanding. Great knowledge of the facility and the process. Willet was a favorite as they do their sampling threw-out the tour instead of the end. We also did just a sampling at Lux Row that was fun. After the initial sampling they took the group to a Rick House and let everyone use a "whiskey thief" to get a sample straight from a barrel.
