I am only 43 years young. My sense of humor hasn’t changed much, but some things that might make me laugh are tinged with guilt. Things I might have instantly shared, now come with a feeling of shame and I keep it to myself.

Can you relate?

For what its worth, you seem to keep nothing to yourself. Thats not a judgement, but I mention it since its contradictory to your comment.
But, yes, I can relate. I have always kept my head low to avoid getting it cut off. Im not bragging or complaining-we all come out fully cooked.

At 49, I still have the humor level of a 13 year old boy. Wife and kids are not amused often.

My sense of humor is a bit twisted, but I wouldn't say dark. I've gone the other direction. Kids are grown adults now so I don't muzzle myself nearly as much.

I’ll keep my thoughts about your comment to myself. Mostly, because as much as i have over-shared, you still don’t know me.

The wife and I act like teenagers, always laughing. Some don't get us, and would probably say we have problems, but we are happy and laughing 90% of the time.

We can't help getting old, but we don't have to grow up. Might as well have fun while we are here.

X2

The other day my 16 year old was in the kitchen and i was messing with something . He asked what i was doing and told him followed by “this blows”. He immediately retorted ( as he should ) “ yeah well you blow”.

I followed it up with “ yeah, well your mom blows”.

Cop humor is very twisted. It’s a defense mechanism.

Problem is there’s a lot of over sensitive folks these days, no sense of humor.

If I understand what you're saying, that comes with age and maturity. Perfectly healthy way of looking at life.

I turn 70 in about 3 weeks, I have no more sense of humor and my 2 week vacation on tff proves it. roflmao

I speak my mind, like it or not, in these times I try real hard to just have a good time on here and tff, my problem is I have no tolerance for keyboard commandos.

personality flaw I guess.

every day I wake up breathing is time for a good belly laugh, unfortunately others don't understand that thought process.

I can relate to this. Often the sensitive ones get offended by me.

I don’t think I’ve changed. I’m relatively young though I guess there is time. I married a catholic and converted, I think it’s God’s way of punishing me for all the catholic jokes I made in the past.

At 68 I am still as muyloco as ever. every now and then the wife gets a bit annoyed and says you have to make a joke out of everything.
Wife & son are pretty straight laced, my daughter is a bit goofy like me grin

Yes it is. I was in the ER back in February and those people have the same sense of humor we do.

Sometimes even the chaplin has a dark sense of humor. Imagine if your pastor struggled to stop saying the f-word roflmao

It’s much easier on the internet, because typing is so deliberate and you can delete before you post.
