I just got a pic on cam of one that dropped one side

Most of mine have shed, but there's a youngster or two still holding on.

I mentioned in another thread an article on deer casting or shedding their antlers that appeared in this month's issue of Deer and Deer Hunting. One of the points mentioned was that studies have found that in southern climates, it's the younger bucks that tend to shed their antlers first, as opposed to northern climates where it's just the opposite. But that having been said, where older bucks shed first, it's believed this is the result of them having a higher rank in the breeding hierarchy during the rut where they fight and chase does continually, which takes a toll on their body. If so, I could see this being true in the South as well given the right buck/doe ratio.

Roger that. Mine are in the panhandle, so at the very least a transition area between the two, but they sure do carry a bunch of northern and even midwest traits.

Still have more than expected with headgear in stx, mainly young deer though.
