Astros finish the shutout 8-0, with a well deserved day off today. Followed by a 4 day trip to Arlington. Buckle your seat belts, the Silver Boot Series is about to kick off!

Still a chance to split the series. And I have a chance to draw a N.M. elk tag this year also....but I hate my odds lol. Astros got 2 runs in 1st game of this series late in game and needed an error by one of the best SS in baseball to get the 2 runs they got last night. Rangers in all likely hood take 3/4 but the odds of sweeping are FAR GREATER than the astros splitting this series. Its a yo yo with these 2 teams. Yu darvish once made Houston look like HS players, then they got built and made some noise. Now its the rangers turn again

Still a chance to split the series. Wishful thinking Well, this is an Astros thread. I’m sure there’s plenty of room on the Rangers thread for the naysayers. I seem to remember some pretty crappy Ranger teams before last season. Lots of bandwagon fans.

Altuve just made a comment in an on field interview. It’s a 162 game season. I concur.

I grew up in Corpus Christi, TX a pretty equal fan of both, plus they were in separate leagues, May have even leaned to Stros with Nolan Ryan, JR Richard and Joe "Sambo" Sambito out of the pen, Enos Cabell, Doran, Ashby and the guys in field, later Biggio, Bagwell, Caminiti, Bass, Mike Scott and the rest of them. You are correct, Stros rebuilt and struggled in early teens and Rangers for a few years before last. All cyclical as most sports; just looks like age is catching up with Abreu, Pressly and a few others, not named Altuve. Lol

I seem to remember some pretty crappy Ranger teams before last season. Lots of bandwagon fans. The Astros were the worst team in the National League for most of any decade they played. They then had a short run with now dead druggies when they were wearing cream and crimson (much like OU). They moved and sucked again until they cheated. The got CAUGHT cheating but kept cheating. Then they swapped managers to another cheater (he did so in the 2023 ALCS) and when that didn't work, he retired. Take the brag medicine Astros fans deserve and be quiet until you win at least three games...wait..four because it took a no-no to win one of the two.
Pass the gravy.

Astros fans, just like Rangers fans, deserve no medicine. I practically grew up in the Dome, but fully admit to being a fan of both teams. But there will be NO petty trolling in either of the Astros' or Rangers' threads. Wanna be a petty troll, start your own thread. These threads are for the discussion of the merits of each team's 2024 season, by anyone. Thanks, folks, and enjoy the season. Will post this in the Rangers thread as well.

I agree that the teams success is greatly influenced by their pitchers success that game.
