I went to a blind this afternoon, just to see what might be moving. Some fat doe moved past, and I noticed that a squirrel was up in the Lamco Low and Throw feeder - the bottom parallel plates. There were three, and I had the 223, and now there aren’t three. Dang squirrels.
Not my monkeys, not my circus...

Squirrels chew my diesel and gas plastic gas cans around the barn. I have to store them inside. There's been a formal declaration of war. Veinte doses are always within reach.

I should have added that I let the squirrels dismount before I shot them. Oddly, as I shot one, the others didn’t run.

I went back to that blind again today, after lunch, and I guess I got all of that crop of squirrels yesterday. Oddly enough, I was excited about the prospect of more squirrels. That must mean I am past ready for hunting season.

I think my dad had more fun with his .17 hmr this year shooting squirrels than he has had in years deer hunting
