I've tried for 2 weeks to book a spring turkey with Wildlife Systems Outfitter located in San Angelo. I called 3 times and each time spoke with the same woman. She told me that I must speak with Greg and he's unavailable. Finally on the 3rd call I expressed my frustration with the lack of response and inability for anyone else to confirm a hunt. I asked when she thought Greg would be available to return my call. She said "Go somewhere else. We don't want your business" and then hung up on me. I was shocked by her response. I wasn't rude and didn't use any foul language. I want to call out this poor customer service and rude behavior and alert other hunters to consider using a different outfitter.

First - welcome 'Hope you'll come on here when things are more pleasant.

It sounds like someone put the wife in charge answering the phone. In my experience, and I know this is "misogynistic", but ladies in the business owner's family, with their God-given mother instinct, protection instinct, etc. are not always the best choice as first contact relations with a customer. They will cut their nose off to spite their face in business. 'Best to have an unrelated gal (or guy) on the phone. I've seen it at doctor's offices, taxidermy (there's a well-known Junction one to avoid), you name it. 'Don't get me started on front office/phone staff in any medical office that make it their daily goal to make as many people as possible "go away."

Op sounds like you failed your interview badly. Id call a lessor outfitter, but be very very patience its hunting season. 2-3 weeks isnt out of the question

FWIW-You called one of the highest top end outfitters and property managers in state. He normally has a 4-5 year waitlist min on Mule deer, elk and STX whitetails. When dealing with the top, your money ISNT green, and you are being interviewed every interaction to get on the waiting or cancelation list

The "lady" was his wife.

She handles all the calls as Greg isn't in the office very much, especially this time of year.

As Bobo stated...you failed the interview process

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

My buddy and I have hunted with Greg and Wildlife Systems many times over the years. My buddy was one of Greg's first clients back in the late 80's when he opened his operation. This does not sound like Greg's operation or how handles clients. Greg has one of the best reputations in the business. He's a very busy man and is usually out in the field. Anything is possible, though something tells me there's more to this than you're sharing. If you lost your cool and were unprofessional with his wife, then she may not want you as a client and told you to go elsewhere.

Creekrunner would fail that process as well. Misogynistic doesn't even come close to that response. Give me a break.
