I was looking at the website today before I donate to Wreaths Across America and stumbled on this:
WEAPONS POLICY
VA regulations 38 CFR 1.218 prohibit the carrying of firearms (either openly or concealed), explosives or other dangerous or deadly weapons while on VA property, except for official purposes, such as military funeral honors.

Possession of firearms on any property under the charge and control of VA is prohibited. Offenders may be subject to a fine, removal from the premises, or arrest.

Seems bass akwards to me. Veterans serve to protect our freedom and while visiting their graves in thanks & respect, Uncle Sam denies that freedom.

I visit the cemetery in Grand Prairie on a regular basis and always have a gun in my pocket. It never even crossed my mind that it might be an issue.

Prohibited at VA hospitals also - all in neighborhoods where carrying is recommended. Just noted that new VA rule is coming up. Get a free urn (from VA) for burial BUT cannot (includes spouse) get buried in Nat Cemetery.
