Shocking I know! Shame on you Brandon. You need to stop smoking so much dope down there in Austin! You don't have what it takes to be a duck hunter, amigo. Now, excuse me while I go insert my head back in my arse.
Question is Cable why were you on the TFF long enough to dig that up? Sham on you! Where is your loyalty? I dont go on that site unless we are shut down here.

I only become emotionally unstable when one of the following things occur: The Cowboys lose (lasts one week) The Mavericks lose (lasts about two days) I learned to cope with BU losing because we have been so good at it over the past 15 years. And most of all I am a total sleep deprived, blood thirsty, psychotic mess from Nov-January

Wow. I didn't realize that all ya'll think it's okay to be bass fishing in those assinine jerseys while taking pot shots at any duck that happens to fly by.
As a duck hunter and a Bass fisherman I can say that I think fishing jerseys are gay, but duck hunters are waaaay more stuck up than Bass fishermen ever thought about being! If you dont believe me then just go over there and ask anyone in the photo section where they caught that big bass they are holding and 99% of them will tell you what lake it was! Now go and ask anyone with a limit of ducks what lake they killed them on and I bet at least 70% of them wont tell you! And God help the guy that actually does tell where he killed them because he will be labeld a "lake namer" and looked down upon for life in the duck hunting community! Thats my 2 cents!

But I bet it's more like 95% won't tell you what lake they shot them on.

The other 5% will lie about where they were shot...
I just think that there ought to be areas designated for one activity at a time. From November 'till January If an area on a public lake is open for waterfowl hunting... It is a no brainer that it's a safety issue to have guys in there bass fishing within the maximum range of shotguns. From January to November they can have the area all to themselves and not fear getting peppered or worse. I think it would alleviate alot of problems and may even benefit both the fish and the birds.
I also think that COE controlled lakes should have a 4am first come, first serve draw at headquarters for areas/blinds- since there ain't enough room for all of us hunters out there as it is.

This whole fisherman naming spots vs duck hunters naming is apples and oranges. Anyone who gives it thought can figure out the area you can fish is thousands of times greater than areas you can duck hunt. You can fish almost anywhere...for duck hunting most lakes you are restricted...then of course you will then have to take out most of that area you can hunt because you need to be on or near the shore to do it. Then you have some areas that are not huntable...add that to the fact that you need to have at least 150-200 yards distance from the next hunting group means that when it all is boiled down you might have a dozen or less huntable spots on a lake at a given time.
So the next time you go saying that stuff about duck hunters naming lakes...think about it first.

Marc This wasn't meant to be a debate about naming lakes or who is more stuck up- bass fishermen or duck hunters...obviously we are I was bringing into question whether or not you A) think it's okay to shoot a duck flying by while bass fishing and B) if u saw this happen in an area you were hunting would you be pissed? I was hunting at Ray Bob two years ago and some chode sniffer came out of his lake house and down to the bank where he sat down in a lawn chair. He had a shotgun with him and when a lone teal that was headed towards my spread got close enough to the bank- BOOM. He blasted it. Well he had no dog, the duck wasn't dead and I watched it swim away to die a slow and miserable death. Pisses me off to this day. I equate that to what I am getting at, the only diff being a bass fisherman has a boat to chase down a cripple.

I don't see many GPS coordinates being thrown out there on the Fishing forums. I truly believe many duck hunters help others just not on the internet where everybody can jump on it. I have seen first hand what can happen to a lake after a few emails or articles in the paper/magazine are generated. The lack of water is only making it even tougher.

There is a saying in Bass fishing circles and it goes like this..."90% of the fish are in 10% of the lake"! That same saying can be used for duck hunting too so dont try to tell me its "apples and oranges"!

I don't see many GPS coordinates being thrown out there on the Fishing forums. We aint talkin GPS coordinates.....we are talking about a WHOLE lake! Fishermen will tell you what lake without thinking twice......duck hunters will just call you names and make smart arse remarks if you ask what lake!

Hell you can fish right next to a guy if you please...Not the case duck hunting. I can tell you dont do much fishing either! Try fishing right next to another Bass fisherman and you might suffer the same tounge lashing (or worse) someone would get if they tried to duck hunt right next to you! Yall can sit here and make excuses all you wont, but there are more similarities between the two than you might think! REMEMBER.......I AM NOT ONLY A AVID BASS FISHERMAN, BUT ALSO A AVID DUCK HUNTER!! Oh....and I name lakes too!

So you would have no idea which 10% to fish by hearing the name of a lake. With Duck hunting, knowing the ducks were on lake X would create an influx of hunters to the limited good hunting spots. That's why we already have to get up at 1:00am to secure a spot on the lake.
