Bobcat caught a squirrel. I wish he’d eat a coon.

I’ve seen a bobcat/coon nose to nose. They both declined to start any static.

Neighbor's 60+ Lb dog got into it with a raccoon several years ago. I don't know how the coon fared, but the dog looked like it had been run over by a sabre wielding banshee.

Those coons are no joke - they are quite fierce and the closest things I've seen to a Wolverine.

Which is why, in my family, we refer to them as Texas Wolverines. chicken

About twenty years ago my step dad caught a raccoon and instead of outright killing it he thought he'd give him a fighting chance and threw him in a kennel with a very large german shepherd. He said the raccoon sized up what was going on, stood up on his back legs and charged the dog. After a moment the dog wanted nothing more to do with the coon.

Years ago I trapped a coon in the yard. Neighbor’s dog came over (big old mixed breed) and was barking at the coon and the coon was growling back. I was gonna let the coon go, but wanted the dog to go back home. I told the dog, who was a smart dog, to go home and though he looked disappointed, he headed down the gravel road toward his house. But when the coon came out of the trap, that dog hit him like a black missile and they had a heck of a fight going. Hard to tell who was winning, but finally the coon disengaged and ran into the woods. The dog was somewhat bloody from a torn lower lip, but I swear he was smiling.

I'd enjoy watching the bobcat vs coon contest. I believe the cat would know better than to try.

Skinny, young bobcat looks like. Awfully long legs.
I bet the 39 pounder we caught up here would good a few rounds with a coon. He was almost scary big in the trap.

Had a new cat that bought off a little too much with a coon. Had to carry the cat to the vet for some stiches. I bet he'll know better next time. I think he's that smart. hammer

In the battles of the animals, always bet on the raccoon!
