Saw a covey of about 8 birds fly off filling feeders this weekend. Have only seen one other covey and that was last year in a not too far area. I assumed then they were pen raised birds that survived a hunt. Maybe that was the case and this is a similar case. We don't have any neighbors that do quail hunts like that though. Don't know what to think but two coveys in two years gives me hope considering we've never seen a quail before that in the 15 years we've owned the ranch.

Been on my current lease in SW Coleman county for 8 years and we have about 3 - 4 times our normal number. Not sure if it's just local or more widespread, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.

Heard there's blues in the Permian area.

After a couple drought-like years, these rains we’ve had this year will certainly improve the numbers. Tends to be a good indicator. Been a couple years since my dogs have seen an upland bird hunt. I’m gettin fat.

I’m in Colorado City, we r seeing several coveys of bobs and blues. There is quite a bit of calling going on to. Just waiting for the guys to get their deer killed and it’s on then, can’t wait.

Deer hunting in the Bois D'Arc unit Caddo National grasslands last week and busted a covey of quail while walking to my stand. First quail I've seen in years.

The fire ants here are getting their butts kicked by the red ants and armadillos. I’m hoping to see quail again. They all disappeared within 2 years of the fire ants showing up in 1989 after a big flood.

We saw one covey of 10 and a couple pairs opening weekend in Mason County. Saw a pair and a single last year. All sightings were in different places so not the same quail. I would love to see Bobwhites make a comeback anywhere they can.
