Folks we got called to work a Horrible Accident last night. A Man, His Wife, and 3 young Children had stoped on the side of the road to use the bathroom. They pulled on the opposite side of the road on the oncoming lanes shoulder for reasons we do not know but it is a low traffic highway. A Diesel Truck came over the hill and wound up missing the vehicle but striking the Man and killing him instantly right in front of his three small Children and Wife. They as well as Us Firefighters and EMT's need your Prayers. It was a horrible thing to walk by their Suburban and hear the screams of the little Children saying my Daddy was hit by that truck. Something that will never be forgotten. Please give this Plainview Family your Prayers. They will be in a VERY rough spot for a long time. God Bless them and I have Prayed for them several times already.

That is tough. Our most sincere prayers for the family, and for you and yours. I know what it is like to see stuff like that, and it kinda stays with you always. DA is right, you may need someone to talk with, and I'd highly advise you do it if you can't move on.

Prayers, stong faith and convictions are what get you through times like this.

Prayers sent Gordon. I'm sorry that your job puts you in a predicament that you have to deal with those kinds of tragedies.
I truly believe, God has a special place in heaven for you people.

Thanks all I would also like all to pray for the Truck Driver as well. He was devistated. As for me I hate to say it but yes its tough but you do get sort of hardened to it in a way but it is much easier to talk to my Fellow Firemen than even my Wife since she hasnt seen stuff like that. We have a tight group of Firemen and we will all be there for one another. Most Deaths I have worked in this small town and County, I have known personally so I was grateful that I didnt know these people. I hope that didnt sound harsh because it wasnt meant to sound that way but as I said, after years of doing this you learn to put some skeletons in the closet and not let some things bother you as much. It was worse knowing the Children and Wife lost a Father and Husband than the actual working of the Deceased.

FO4, it's completely understandable, and I don't think that sounded harsh. I can't imagine having to deal with those skeletons at all, much less on a daily basis. You are a special person! God bless.

The victim of this accident is Bryan Peeler, who was a medical doctor here in Plainview for the past several years. His loss is very difficult for those of us who knew and cared for him. I can't imagine what his dear wife and children are going through today. I want to thank all the Emergency Services Personnel who helped at this accident scene, and who tended to all those involved. I've been in those shoes before, and it never gets easy.

Thank you very much for posting this. I had heard that he was in the Medical Profession from our Sheriff. My prayers are to his Wife and Children. I had the opportunity to listen to the 911 tape today. My Prayers are also with our Dispatcher, who is also one of my Fellow Firefighters. She did a Wonderful job and the 911 call was nothing but pure Terror. The Wife and Children of this Victim all need your towns support there and I hope and Pray that all come together for them. If you know them, please pass on Paducah Volunteer Fire Departments Condolences.
