Oh holy Christ that is horrible. Just reading it gave me chills, I can not even fathom what that family is going through nor do I want to.

Thank you for doing your job 'cause I sure as heck could not. Prayers for you, your family and for the family.

Let me know what I can do to help.

Thanks all. I suppose im doing what helps. Staying busy, living my life each day, loving my Family, and getting things ready to take the SOldiers and Disabled Vets hunting is doing me a lot of good. Its something you learn to deal with and also to talk with your fellow Brothers about. Something like that, you really cant talk to your Spouse about unless she has been thru it also. She comforts you but she can not understand you. She asked me one day what I meant and I told her it was like her talking about her losing her Dad. I can comfort her but I can not understand what she is feeling because I have never experienced that. I am not a Professional but I can not see sitting if front of a phsycologist telling them my problems when they have never been there before. There is no understanding on their side. Talk with the others who have been thru it, lean on one anothers shoulders and you will always overcome your deamons. Remember the Lord will never give you more than you can handle.

I wanted to add something as well. The TRUE HERO that was out there that day was the Deceased Father. He pushed his Son into the Suburban right before the truck hit him. He gave his life to save his Son. He is and always will be a Hero in my eyes.

Father of 4, I know what you are talking about. I've been in law enforcement 18 years. I've learned to protect myself emotionally from the trauma we see everyday but sometimes things stick with you. My wife can't really understand like other cops can. When I retire I would like to move somewhere that holds no memories of homicides, suicides or traffic fatalities that I've worked. Prayers sent for you and all involved in this tragic accident.

Man still just thinking of what everyone involved is dealing with makes me appreciate our foks in the emergency services.
Prayers for the family and y'all.
And if Paducah is gonna be a retirement community, will they make the crossroads bigger to handle more old farts ?

God bless the Heroes...the Father of the boy, the LEO and Emergency Services personnel that worked the accident, and the heroes that are fighting in our Armed Forces. I appreciate all of you.

Prayers sent for all of you, too.

Thank you very much for posting this. I had heard that he was in the Medical Profession from our Sheriff. My prayers are to his Wife and Children. I had the opportunity to listen to the 911 tape today. My Prayers are also with our Dispatcher, who is also one of my Fellow Firefighters. She did a Wonderful job and the 911 call was nothing but pure Terror. The Wife and Children of this Victim all need your towns support there and I hope and Pray that all come together for them. If you know them, please pass on Paducah Volunteer Fire Departments Condolences.

Done. You might pull up www.myplainview.com and read the local stories about the accident and the Peeler family, as well. Prayers remain with you all.

Thanks. The Dispatcher that took the call showed me the report from the paper yesterday. She had printed it out. That was truly the most Horrible call any of the Dispatchers have ever had to handle and I commend her for the Wonderful job she did. She is having some trouble overcoming it but she is one of us Firemen and shes a tough girl.

All of us Firemen are doing good now. We are moving on as well as talking to each other. It was a Horrible Tragedy and again the True Hero was the Father who was killed. He died saving his Son. Cant ask for any more of a true Hero than that.
