I'm building mine now and am putting up a few shelves and even a coat hanger. Started to think about making room for my gas-powered heater and thought... I wonder what people keep in their stands and if they have any nooks or crannies I need to know about. Anyone have any unique toys in their stands or interesting places to hang you phone, binoculars, gun, food, drinks, etc? Pictures?

I buy tin cans at garage sales... like fruitcake cans but I prefer cans with a wire bail, like lard cans... mice can't get into them.

I put a small flash light, matches or lighter, survey tape (for tracking wounded game) 1/2 roll of toilet paper, pen and a knife (for filling out tags) cheese crackers, viani sausages, gum and jolly ranchers. Sometimes I have 2 so I put in a spare grunt call, and tinks 69, and a copy of hunting regulations. I also keep a small note book and log game seen and killed from my blind.

I like the cans with the bails because I put cup hooks in the roof corners and hang them out of the way.

Coat hook on door and nails in the sides of the studa for hanging calls, binocs, ect. Shelf above window has a few rounds of ammo.

I usually leave a few bottles of water in the stands early, like hooks, especially U hooks for rifles, and I like to carpet up as high as possible...

On some with 1inch metal tubing for frames, or plywood edges, we have the foam insulation pieces for pipe, slide them over the rails for safe, quite, non-marring pads...

Also usually a small roll of picture frame wire, for secuing windows. latches, mending feeders, etc...

A buddy of mine leaves pliers in every stand, but I just carry the multi-tool

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I'm assuming you already know of such things as old carpet for the floor to deaden the sound of chair movement. I also prefer hinged windows that open to the inside with something that latches at the top.

It brings to mind when my partner walked up to one of our stands where the windows had left open for months. Just as he approached it, a huge buzzard comes flying out the window and dang near scared him to death. He later found that it had built a nest and laid eggs.

Needless to say, we now call it the "Buzzard Stand".

one office chair, one folding chair, old carpet on the floor, and a log to record what we see on every sit and when feed was put out.

Pluss a few yellow jackets, the ocasional owl. The thinkg I have found that I hated the most were black widows. I have killed two of them in one of our ground blinds, now that we have put it on a tower I havent seen one.

I didn't have much in there. I'm about to build a new box for my metal stand. I'm thinking of including some sort of hook I can use as a gun rest/stabilizer. I'm probably gonna put a coat hook and back pack hook in it, not to mention carpet, and definately a full size door. I hate making 4 trips up and down my ladder carrying stuff up and down. Of course windows on all sides as well.

Small shelf between the two windows. It has two barrel rests, the top holds my binoculars, drink and a book. I have pegboard on the sides. There I hang my rifle sling, hat, jacket, pistol belt, anything else that needs to be kept off the floor. A top shelf holds matches, TP, and wasp spray. I keep a propane heater in there in case the wife tags along on cold mornings.

coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.
