Really good. I grew up in Del Rio, and that entire area is good whitetail country. 150+ isn't unheard of.

Make sure to inquire about anthrax. They have bouts of it occasionally and it can wipe out deer herds for miles.

I use to hunt between Rocksprings and Bracketville. The deer population was good many years back. There have been a bunch of the developers go into that area and divided up the land into 25-50 acres plots. They get way too much hunting pressure. If you hear of a place like that anywhere near the lease you are looking at RUN!

That being said, there are some very nice deer in that area, along with turkey and javelina. Good luck!

I hunt out there off of RR 674 between Bracketville and Rocksprings and there's tons of deer there. One of my neighbors shot a 180 class a few years ago, but I haven't seen anything quite that big. If you go much further south from us, the hunting changes as you get off of the Edwards Plateau and it gets flat, but I hear that it's still pretty good. North of us and closer to town, it is not as hilly as we are. I drive through there and see deer and turkeys all of the time. I don't think you're going to have a problem putting steaks in the fridge, but it can be hit or miss with regards to trophy bucks.

10 miles west of Rocksprings will be pretty hilly. Canyons and the like. Just FYI.

Not South Texas scrub brush, more like west Texas scrub brush.

ton of cedars and ROCKS! My buddy has a place out that way, only NE of Rocksprings a cpl miles, and he usually will kill deer in the 120s-140s every year....if he can keep the exotics off their feeders. Going weekend after next to thin out the hogs that have moved in and an axis or 2.
