Just got back with a load of Apple scented deer corn from Mummes. 6.65 a bag...Skid price. Reasonable

Do you think it'll attract deer more than regular corn? Can you smell the apple scent?

i think its alittle better than regualr corn, when i used it from heb, mummes was the producer and it smelled great.

It smells really good. I don't know if it works but it doesn't seem to hurt. I use it because it just happens to be what they sell at Kothman's in Menard and I like doing business in there.

I love apple scented corn in my feeder! Seems to really attract the deer on my East Texas lease better than regular corn. Pretty good price too.

Ask yourselves, "what the heck would a Texas deer know about apples? I don't know who told them about apples but they do come to it quicker than just plain corn. Mumme's is the only place I buy from and from mid August through about mid December I usually go through 80 to 100 tons of it bulk. I use it not just because of the apple scent, but mainly because their corn is some of the cleanest you can find anywhere.

when was the last time you say a apple tree on your place you hunt/I have only seen one in Wisconsin and it had a high fence around it beacuse the deer would not leave it alone!!

I think they just like the smell.....after all, we don't have any corn fields within miles of our lease either yet they come to our feeders.

Agreed. IMO I consider the apple scent to be a bonus. The main selling point for me other than I'm near the Bulverde location is that it is extremely clean and very competitively priced. One of my two favorite sellers.

they sell the regaular apple scented stuff in a gallon plastic jar. its like 13 bucks, but a few years ago at walmart i bought around 18 jars of the stuff for 50 cents a piece becuase it was marked down. i gave alot to the fellow hunters on the place, i was calling it my secret weapon, but i think it had no effect on the deer

All the corn is spoken for. I was just letting everyone know the price of a.s.corn. Thought it was a fair price.
I have two feed stores in the Dallas area looking to carrying this stuff. I am in Allen and San Antonio is a good hall. This is why we buy as much of it as we do.

mummies is where we buy our corn, and yes, the apple scent makes a difference, especially if your feeding a road. with the right wind you can smell it when it comes outta the feeder.
as far as the deer eating the apples go, I was helping one of our hunters (who had a horrible flinching problem) shoot at whatever would explode that you could see through the scope before recoil knock the sight picture off. i got a bunch of fresh apples that they had brought and we ended up shooting probably 20 apples. later that night when we came back from the hunt, there were about 8 deer in the field in front of our cabin eating the apples that we'd left out there. go figure

Fact is most Texas Deer by January are starving to death...they'd eat doodoo scented corn if it hit the ground. They don't care what it smells like when they here the feeder go off they come eat.

I have been using Indian corn for years. The different colors make them stop and look longer at the feeder. We feed it all year, and the coons seem not to like it either.
