Hey Bos sorry I haven't been on in a bit but work calls, I do hope all is well, The thing about calling the misses the wrong name wellit happens, I hope things are getting better for you, I know it is a long painful process and my heart goes out to you with what you are dealing with. You keep strong and fighting.
As for the hunting well it is slow and HOT darn HOT, I am Pig hunting for the first time ever and with a bow, No luck at all, but I have lost about 12 pounds of sweat, just like in the sand box.
Keep it real and Honest brother you are gonna make it through the darkness.

Hey , hope all is well with you and yours ! Still pluggin along here, waiting for the VA to decide my claim. It's really hot and humid here, will be so glad when the fall and cooler temps get here. Bow hunting is a kick in the pants, I love it. Thanks for the encouragement !

Yes. Try going to a civilian therapist. I am using one here and just started meds. All together seems to be "helping" not making it better but helping.

Yeah understand about the meds, have been on several different ones and they don't really do much. All I can say is never give up, never give in !!!

Today is one of those days when I wish the meds were stronger. It can really effin suck sometimes those are excellent days to: hit the gym when nobody else is there, go for a long walk, go fishing, split firewood by hand, weed/brush-clearing ops, tear down and remove an old shed or fence that's needed it for some time, re-roof an old widow lady's house, or virtually anything else that will 1) get you out of the house 2) keep you out of trouble 3) get your mind occupied with the hear-and-now and 4) get the endorphines churning in your brain the natural way.

Fellas, you will always see "blue people", you will always have panic attacks that get worse. You really have to have a reckoning before the weaken.
Just keep an open mind and a good sense of humor.
BEWARE of P-Sikes with an agenda, they do more harm. They also have no problem handing out drugs but that AIN't the way my friends.
Some of the best healing I can tell you is a loving family, lying on the floor and crying, and writing down your feelings no matter what the point of veiw.
You also need to listen to a voice of reason and develop a signal for them to give you if you go off. Visual distractions work well.
Don't let them fake the funk, there ain't no cure.
Stay out of places like the VFW and other joints where "Posers" hang around whinning and crying. Why, most PTSD folks stay to themselves and ruin their family life. That VA pamphlett with the Knight in it called the "Armor of PTSD" is SPOT on.
God Speed and I'll share anything you want, just not on a thread.

Hey thanks for the info and encouragement. Have done all the things you mentioned, except the safe word thing, where I work most of the people wouldn't do a damn thing except maybe look at me funny and talk smack afterwards. Anyway some of the best Therapy so far has been working with FOF and the huntingwithsoldiers program, keeps me from thinking about myself to much. Thanks FOF !

Sir, The chances of an "outburst" in a familiar or controlled environment is usually slim to none.
Its really deeper than just some movie type of PTSD sterotype.
It can happen at the jiffy lube or a camp ground...trust me. Its then you need that "voice of reason" the most before someone ends up dead.
Most PTSD suffers test with what they call a "deep V" profile and they say its "V" for "volcano"
Just remember, any VA pay stops when you are incarcerated.
A Benadryl and a fan work about as good as any professional sleeping medications. Silence don't cut it.

ok va pay does not stop upon lock up but is dramatically reduced, but thats a neg and dont focus on them things. been dealing with my own crap lately, and yeah the va psych people like to pass out the drugs for sure. they gave me lorazapham which seems to do what it is supposed to but they wanted me to take it daily, which i wont do as it is addictive, and i do work similar to what you do. they tried to give me other drugs and i tried them made me feel worse so i took myself off them. they eventually concurred. its a long road back, but we can make it. what is your work schedule like i just got back to days the nights where the worst to much time to dive into myself.
