Frustrating weekend…….. birds on the wrong side of the fence……… three big gobbling birds coming in only to be challenged and ran off by calves about 50 yards from my set up……thunder….lightning……rain….wind…..birds that wouldn’t work…birds that worked but skirted just the outside of shooting distance…%*$%&$!!!!

Since it was my last trip out this season and I still needed some more turkey breast to get me through the upcoming “Summer Grilling season”, I busted this Jake on my last set up of the season about 10 minutes before I had to pick up and head home. Man…..I put some miles on the old boot leather this weekend and I was dead arse tired so I just laid him over my boot and snapped this unflattering shot before I picked up and headed in. Not the bird I wanted to end the season on but he’ll make some tasty “Buffalo Turkey Strips”!
