I want to ask you all your opinions on something...

If you were invited as a guest to hunt at someones lease/hunting club

and

your group was the ONLY group following the laws and the established seasonal guidelines and methods

and

the other leaseholders illegal hunting practices ruined your hunt

and the property owner was on board with the illegalities and participating in them

Would you report this to the game warden OR does it depend on the laws that were broken?

If you were the only one following the law and the GW showed up, it might be kind of hard to convince him that you were not in on the illegal activities. Sort of CS that you were not given some insight on the kind of things going on at the place so that you could opt out of the invite. It would be a downer to show up with the intentions of enjoying a hunt and then finding out that all of this stuff was going on.

There are all kinds of levels of "Illegal", it is hard to say whether they should be reported or not with out knowing what they were doing and whether or not it was actually illegal.

+1 more We need more details. However, In some instances it may become a misdemeanor to not report broken laws. Think about your next post very carefully.

Details:

I just got back from a deer hunt in Mississippi.

There are week and weekends designated for bow only, muzzle loader, primitive weapons, guns with dogs and guns without dogs.

This weekend was a gun without dogs weekend and I go out to a lease out there and my group was the only ones following the no dogs law... Every single hunter outside our group was running dogs!

So they were chasing the beagles on four wheelers with shotguns who in turn were flushing out the deer. The place sounded like the 4th of July with all the shotgun blasts, plus dogs barking, plus 4 wheelers... I wonder why the deer were not coming out???!!

I did not get a shot op at a deer because those a-holes scared them all away - plus they had NO RESPECT for anyones hunting area. My friend had the f-ing dogs come right up on him both days!

Then to make things worse, Saturday night, one of their stupid beagles wandered into our camp and tore up our trash and spread it all over camp. I came THIS CLOSE to digging a shallow grave giving him a dose of lead poisoning via Mr. 92FS...

I'm really pissed off enough that I might call the game warden... I mean I put 1100 miles on my truck and all that time on the road to go hunting and even squirrels were too scared to come out!

I'm gonna need more details.... so far for me the key phrase is "invited guest" ... when you're there on a free ride it's up to your host how big of a stink he's gonna make,
Illegal activities??? I guess it kinda depends on what kind but something that i took serious would be reported (maybe not on "that" trip) because if you were there and knew about it and didn't leave (or report it at that time) you're guilty by association.

i'd just write it off as one of those shiity deals and never go back. i understand how that would piss you off, no doubt. its kinda like putting soured milk back into the fridge and thinking that it will be ok later just my .02

yes mississippi is an interested place, it is east texas with less chromosomes. instead of antler restrictions on deer they have teeth restrictions on hunters
