SAD!

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Hunting was tough this weekend. They had rain late this summer, so cover was good, but it was such a dry spring brood conditions were terrible. We scratched out a few birds, but numbers were as low or lower than last year.

NW. I talked to guys who hunted 20 miles north of us who found a few more birds. Just depends where the rain fell last spring.

I thought there were more birds than the last two years. We managed 6 out of the first field the first day but it got really slow after that. Seemed to me that there was only half as much WIHA as before and a bumper crop of hunters flogging the same little patches day after day.
