So we have used the Purina Pro Plan Shredded Chicken for years and have had great luck. And the dogs love it. I purchased two bags last time that had moths in each bag. I sent two emails to Purina and never received any type response. Has anyone else ever experienced this before?

Take the bags with the evidence back to the store where you bought the food. I'm sure the vendor will give you new bags to replace the bad ones; just make sure the lot# is different. Let the feed store owner settle up with Purina, or perhaps with a wholesaler middle man.
Nothing wrong with Pro Plan products going forward. Stuff happens, as they say....

I had a bad experience with Pro Plan. Several years ago. I picked up a bag from the feed store. When I opened the bag the overwhelming smell of rotten fish hit me. Tried a second bag and it was just as bad. Made a switch to Diamond and have not had any problems since. Feed the Naturals with no grains and the dogs love it.

I fed pro plan for a while too. Not very long though, once I saw how much better of a food the Diamond Naturals is, and even a little cheaper, it was a no brainer for us. We feed 9 dogs, they all do great on it.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

My dog will only eat Pro Plan. He'll literally go 3+ days without eating and then he'll just pick at it with any other food. And he runs too much and loses weight too fast to deal with that.

Pro plan is decent food but I hunt 45 plus days during duck season then I do a little goose hunting and pro plan just doesn't get the the job done especially when it gets real cold
If it bleeds I can KILL IT

What has a higher protein to fat content than 30/20? Or is it another reason it doesn't work for you?

I feed Black Gold 26-18 Performance Blend and have for many years. I have tried most of the major brands and nothing can compare to this feed for my hounds, better muscle tone, shiny hair coat and litte waste in kennel. Adios, Gary

That's the same with one of my labs, the other lab will eat anything put in front of her. I had one bag left and returned it and purchased two more. If there is another problem I will be trying some of these suggestions. Thanks for the info.

I was using Pro Plan 30-20 for my lab but she never seemed satisfied. She's only 50lbs, but would go to her food bowl several times a day looking for more even though I was already giving her 4 cups per day. She also has allergy problems and would scratch constantly, so I did some research and decided to try Dr. Tim's Kinesis grain free which is 32-18 and am only giving her 2.5 cups per day and she never acts hungry between feedings. She also doesn't seem to have the allergy problems that she did before and her coat and muscle tone look great. The only drawback is I have to order the food online because no one carries it locally, but Chewy.com had it for a decent price and the shipping is free with no tax.
