Heck yea im going its a Tribute to go opening weekend never pulled the trigger that weekend but still go.

yeah I may only get to go sunday...I just hate the feeling of my neighbors shooting a buck that I could've been there and had a chance at...

Can't afford a lease and wouldn't dare go on public land opening weekend so I guess I'll sit at home and dream.

Both my boys made the playoffs which means 2 games Saturday and hunting Sunday, but I'm fine with that. Looking like the youngest might get picked up on the all stars team.

Proud of him just though football was almost over and we could focus on hunting.

My daughter has a soccer game Saturday morning, so I'll be heading out at noon. I have a two hour drive, so I'll have no room for error.
I have passed up bucks on opening day that I never saw again.

Opening weekend is our best time to hunt bucks we have been watching all summer. Our rut is late and usually for the first few weekends of the year the bucks are still all bunched up and in there summer patterns yet.

I have only missed 1 opening day in Texas in my 51 years of hunting, that one time I was in CO hunting elk/mule deer but got back in time to hunt Sunday afternoon ... so, no I will not miss opening weekend ... doubt I pull the trigger unless a true monster of a buck came out. Or a pig.

I'm not going until the next weekend. I have 3 girls and all have activities going on plus Halloween so I want to spend time with them. They will be going hunting with me next weekend. It's all about spending time with them making memories no matter what we are doing. They won't be young forever. Good luck and be safe to everyone that will be hunting this weekend!

Work Saturday and have to go to a function with my wife Saturday night. We'll be heading out late Saturday night and have to be back at work Thursday evening.

Thankfully for the much need rain there is an over abundance of cover and food..... I'm not going till first weekend of Dec. and that still might be too early

Between work, football and baseball, I won't see the lease until the week of thanksgiving. By then, 60% of the folks on my lease are done and the place is nice and quiet. Extended doe season is the same. It's a ghost town out there for me and the kids.

Only going for a few hours Saturday morning.

we had a lease in Bandera county when I was a kid, 6k acres with 13 guys. everyone got one buck on the lease.

we would skip opening weekend, then go the next when there was only 3 or 4 guys that hadn't tagged out

Same here man, son has a game at 10:00. We only have a 1 hour ride to the lease, though.

We have a game at 10 then heading from there. Only two hour drive though. Sunset is after 6:40 Sat so getting there anytime before 4 is fine is fine for me. Probably won't get in stand until 4:30.
