What are your thoughts on shooting thru the mesh in a ground blind. Have missed twice, both shots went low, crossbow sighted in deadon. Used fixed Broadheads.

What do you do, yes or no.

I never have done it, I don't want anything touching my arrow after I release it! There's plenty of hunters that claim it doesn't hurt and do it all the time.

Plus I don't want holes in my mesh.

When you get in your ground blind you take the mesh down all around?

My advice would be to shoot a target first before you go experimenting on deer. Are you practicing with your broadheads?

That would be the logical thing to do....

This. And also set your target up at your stand and put a few shots on target through the mesh.

Some fixed broad heads don't fly like a field point, especially at some of the fast speeds of a cross bow.

with a fixed blade it shouldn't be an issue... shoot a target through it and practice with broadheads should fix it

Yes, yes, and yes. Have done all that you suggest. I shoot 2-3 times a week at different yard ages and angles and dangles,

I have decided not to shoot through the mesh since I have switched from the broadhead I was using to the WASP broadheads.

I was just curious as to what others did as I still consider myself new to hunting with the crossbow.

Where did they hit on the target when you shot through the mesh with the broadheads?

They hit low also.

I have seen no APRICABLE change in poi. Now I realize the physics say it has to bleed a little energy. I've killed 2 through it and hit where I was aiming. Do you ever have to paper tune a crossbow?

I leave my mesh open through where I'm shooting I'm 22 yards from my feeder and still haven't been busted all year. I hunt traditional so it's not a good idea to shoot through mesh with traditional anyway. Even when I shot compounds I never shot through mesh and never had a problem getting busted.

I have gotten busted leaving it up and pulling it down when hunting, they DIDNT like the change, but different populations handle change differently....

I have shot through the mesh several times and never noticed any difference in where the arrow hits. The main reason I started leaving the front window open is because of the difficulty of seeing in low light conditions. I actually missed the mesh window one time and shot through the pop up while shooting a turkey. Still got him though.

I am going to hunt with it down the rest the year and see what happens.

you sure they didn't smell you.. not trying to be cute bro. I don't prop them open too much; just enough to get an arrow through the opening.

Those two on the left are rarely open; I just leave them closed. They don't seem to mind; I had one buck over an hour at my feeder last week.... but I didn't want him, I have one that I have my sights on.

Just get it brushed in well and leave your shooting windows 1/2 down...
