I have a couple AR-15s but nothing longer than 16" and all with A2 front sight posts.....I like the ammo costs on the 5.56 and keeping parts and calibers the same.
With the 300 Blackout I love the ability for near silence when suppressed and the ability to have a much higher grain bullet
I have thought about the SPR 5.56 and a Bolt Action 300BLK just to keep me from getting trigger happy!!

Best performance out of an 18" barrel will be with 6.8SPC, >20" with 6.5G.
If you're going to go with a 18" rifle, I'd choose 5.56 or 6.8.
BLK is great for an SBR, but it's not really a high performing long range round vs the 6's.

I love the blk out round, and have 3 rifles in them. I like the 223 for plinking, but there is a noticeable increase in energy with the blk out. There are many more bullet and ammo options in the blk out to fit your needs.

does anybody use a 300blk in a Bolt Action - maybe like really close to a SBR but just above length wise and suppressed?

The SPR is made to shoot the 77g bullet. Not the same bulk pricing on those like the 55g bullets. I have two 300blk ARs and love them. It should kill anything (legal) in Texas. does anybody use a 300blk in a Bolt Action - maybe like really close to a SBR but just above length wise and suppressed? I don't have one yet. I plan to get a Ruger American 300blk when they become available.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

does anybody use a 300blk in a Bolt Action - maybe like really close to a SBR but just above length wise and suppressed? I have a Rem Model 7 and a Rem model 700 in blk out. I run both mainly suppressed, but sometimes not. You will gain about 70 to 120 fps over an AR-15 since all the powder is going to the bullet, and not cycling an AR. Here's a group I shot last week out of my Model 7 16" running my 125 Nosler BT load unsuppressed at 2300 fps. First 4 were right on, then I pulled the 5th shot, of course! I was aiming 12 o'clock on the diamond.
