I feel like my bow is pretty well sighted in with good groupings with field tips but when I shot a practice broadhead, it is about 8 inches left and 3 inches up. I shot two the other day and the blades crossed each other where the hit the target. Took it to get tuned today and the one time I shot the broadhead tip, it hit in the exact spot as the other two. Is it typical to see this much variation between the two tips or is something else going on.

8 inches X 3 inches is a lot of difference just for changing heads. What kind of broadhead are you shooting? I think something else may be going on.

You bow just needed to be tuned. Not uncommon for a fixed blade to "sail" on you when your arrow is not shot from a tuned bow.

Ok, thanks. I took in to be tuned and the only adjustment made was to raise the rest. Sounds like they need to do a little more work.

Paper tune the bow and see if that is your problem. FYI, I had a similar problem once while shooting muzzy broad heads...I paper tuned the bow and the broad heads were still shooting off consistently...so I started shooting different broad heads (a dozen different types.) Finally settled on the NAP fixed blades because they shot consistently better than the Muzzy's and anything else I tried (although I did like a couple of the G5 offerings.) I didn't have any problems with my expandables as they shot dead on with the field points...I use the 85 grain Grim Reaper expandables with the regular point (not razor points!) They always seem a little hard to get, but man, those rascals are accurate, deadly, and good on angle shots.

I've had the same issue before when Rocky Mountain fixed blades.
I switched to NAP Thunderheads and they would shoot dead on and the same as my field points.

Be sure and align your arrow fletching to whatever fixed broadheads you shoot.

you need to spin check fixed blade broadheads. if they dont spin true they will not fly true. one of the reasons i swtiched from muzzy years ago was out of 6 in the pack 2 or 3 had bad ferrules. i spin test every fixed blade before it gets qualified to go into my quiver.
