I have the shotgun barel attachment for the gopro. It also fits perfectly on my stablizer won't get to shoot the setup till Sunday has anyone tried this yet? I am hopeing it won't add to much weight will really make for a sweet perspective on a hunt. Also I know my lazy butt could look it up in the manual but can you put the gopro hero 3 black in silent mode? Can't wait for the super slow motion on the arrow thru a deer or pesky porker heck anything that wants to be the first volunteer LOL.

Yes, you can set it to silent. I'm also looking forward to using my go pro. I shoot trad and I'm trying to figure out how to attach to my bow. There's a function that it will turn on automatically with a jump, wondering if a shake will turn it on. Some testing to do....

Only problem is you have to be close. No zoom feature. Maybe set it up on the ground.

i usually run 2 go pros. one on my stabilizer and one on remote close to where i plan on shooting the animal. i bought the mini gorilla tripod. it sits about 8" off the ground with the camera. never bothered any animals. in fact ive had deer lick it and knock it over. i usually use my go pro app to control that one. sometimes ill turn it on to "look" around the corner.

Haha great idea for a blind spot. Don't think I'll be to worried with distance hunting heavy brush going to be 10-15 yard shot max at my place. Got some great video opening day of dove season. Only problem was it really messed with my swing speed starting out as I hadn't shot with the camera on my gun until then but I got used to it pretty quick.

put the gopro in narrow mode so you can actually see the video, in medium or wide you will be at a too far away perspective..

I turned my headlamp into my go pro mount! You can video the animal coming in or whatever your looking @ rather than pointing your bow that direction! Then you just get the go pro app for your lap top and can edit all your kill shots etc togethor ! Just passing that on from a fellow hunter! I turned 4 hours of teal hunting into 21 kill shots! Best thing I've ever say down and figured out! It's greatness!!!!Good Luck

And yes you can silent but it still blinks on the back side to let you see it's running

Yea there is a lot to learn on it I think a lot will come down to trial and error of finding the settings that work best for each situation. Thanks for all the suggestions going to be fun playing with it for sure.

Watch out for the blinking light as well. They sell a blackout case now. $50. I am thinking of spray painting the extra one I have. I use it with the headstrap and its never in the way. Please make sure you have string clearance if you go that route. Also you can get it to one "button push" mode and it will turn on and start filming right away. Still looking for my first bow kill with it, but I have some good duck footage with it.

Yea I was going to put electrical tape over the light. Then turn it on and see how bad it showed at night. Yea the dove hunting I did came out really good looking forward to dusting some ducks with mine as well pretty soon. I'm going to shoot a few with it on the stabilizer Sunday at the range and see how it goes.

I'm thinking the speed of the arrow and the speed of the shot out of a shotgun might be a little different. It may be tough to hold your bow steady enough to get good slow motion footage of an arrow going through the animal. Maybe not though.

I saw a really neat shot last year on here the guy had his GoPro set up on a tripod on the other side of his feeder he shot a mule deer and you got to see the arrow come out the other side. was really neat I never really thought about the bow falling as the arrow flies but I just shot at my target in the backyard and the arrow got there in plenty of time at 30 yards.

I don't know if it's just the three but on it I finally found how to turn not only the sound but the light off as well. I am actually out now didn't take it this morning but I'm going too this evening. Had a parade of deer around me this morning way to many eyes to get drawn back lol. Realy a blast watching them 15 ft away and not getting busted though.
